About

I was born and raised in San Diego, California..not a bad place to spend a large portion of your life (unless you despise WONDERFUL weather)! Growing up, my Italian last name, Celio, pronounced (seal-leo) was often mispronounced as (cell-leo). I would explain that my last name was pronounced seal "like the animal" to help people remember it better. This memory forever stuck with me and it made it easy for me to choose my main character's name for my first book, Silly Leo! Get the play on words?

I attended college in San Diego and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Master's Degree in Psychology. My career path started in San Diego working as an educator and I eventually found my way into corporate training. Much of inspiration for Leo's character was pulled from my own life experiences. I never thought I'd leave San Diego.

It wasn't until one fateful day when I met my husband on an airplane that I even considered leaving home. Insert corny joke-we fell in love at first flight. This is what ultimately brought me to the San Francisco Bay Area. Even though I've lived here for a few years now, I still feel like a tourist. I vividly remember my first time seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. Something about it is majestic and I understand how Leo feels when he finally finds it.

My life has changed a lot since moving to the bay. I now have a beautiful daughter. She was my inspiration for self-publishing a children's book. It was the best gift ever to have her be the first person to read my book! Now, with her seal of approval, I'm proud to share with you this little creation from my imagination.
